Reason for the Appeal

The homeowner was refused a secondary suite development permit for his basement site for reasons not cited in the decision.

 

The Decision

The board dealt with whether an appeal to the original refusal was submitted on time. Appeals under the Municipal Government Act must be filed within 14 days of receiving notice of the option to appeal, which the homeowner did not do. The board therefore said it had no legal power to hear the appeal.
