Reason for the Appeal
The Development Authority originally refused the application for development of a secondary suite for the following reasons:
- it would be incompatible with the neighbourhood
- it would interfere with the access and transportation requirements
- it would restrict parking and vehicle access on the street
- privacy issues because of suite occupants being able to see into neighbours’ yards
The homeowners appealed the board’s denial of their application, stating that in their opinion, the reason for the refusal was primarily based on the need for a parking relaxation.
The Decision
The board decided again to deny the homeowners’ appeal stating the same reasons.
